Our client, a privately held leader in custom-engineered pump stations for water transfer and control, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive a new strategic initiative into the upstream and midstream oil & gas markets.

Location: Must be based in Texas. Regular travel required for customer meetings and site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities with upstream operators, midstream infrastructure providers, and water logistics companies
  • Sell custom-engineered pump station solutions for applications such as produced water transfer, flowback handling, pipeline boosting, and SWD systems
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to initiate conversations, uncover project needs, and drive new business
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and applications teams to design solutions tailored to site-specific requirements
  • Manage complex, long-cycle sales processes involving technical stakeholders, field operations, and procurement teams
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on pump performance, pressure control, automation, and system integration
  • Support proposal development, bid packages, and site visits throughout the sales process
  • Maintain insight into market trends and regulatory changes impacting upstream and midstream water infrastructure

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of business development or technical sales experience in the upstream and/or midstream oil & gas sector
  • Direct experience selling engineered pump systems or water transfer solutions into oilfield applications is required
  • Established network of industry contacts within E&Ps, midstream operators, or water service providers
  • Proven ability to manage complex, long-cycle capital equipment sales involving technical and operational stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of water handling, pressure regulation, and pump station integration in oil & gas environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and build a market from the ground up
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative sales skills
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and occasional onboarding at company HQ
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business, or related field)
