Miller Resource Group

Sales Director – U.S. Market Development & Field Sales

Industry: Industrial Equipment | Aftermarket Parts | Industrial Laundry
Location: Remote / Home-Based – United States
Preferred Location: Northeast / Connecticut region, with flexibility for exceptional candidates

Travel: National travel to support customers, field sales personnel, and industry events

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial sales leader who enjoys both developing business personally and building the team, processes, and strategies necessary to support sustainable growth.

The organization benefits from an established international presence, an existing U.S. customer base, domestic warehouse operations, and relationships throughout the industrial laundry industry.

The opportunity is to transform that foundation into a more proactive, relationship-driven national sales organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to customers, developing sales talent, and taking ownership of business growth—not simply managing from behind a desk.

Sales Strategy & Market Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive U.S. field sales strategy focused on sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
  • Evaluate existing customer relationships, market opportunities, and geographic sales coverage to establish territory priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market penetration within the industrial laundry aftermarket.
  • Develop strategies to expand sales of replacement parts, water-extraction membranes, ironer supplies, and related consumables.
  • Leverage established customer relationships and existing equipment installations to accelerate growth.
  • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities with major industrial laundry operators and multi-location customers.
  • Establish measurable sales objectives, forecasting processes, and performance metrics.

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Participate in onboarding, training, and developing the initial U.S. field sales team.
  • Provide coaching and support to help sales professionals develop their territories and customer relationships.
  • Establish consistent expectations for customer engagement, prospecting, account development, and CRM utilization.
  • Support territory planning, sales forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable sales culture focused on customer relationships and long-term growth.

Strategic Accounts & Business Development

  • Maintain direct involvement with key customers, strategic accounts, and significant business development opportunities.
  • Potentially manage a personal sales territory while leading the broader sales organization.
  • Develop relationships with industrial laundry operators, purchasing organizations, plant leadership, and industry partners.
  • Support major customer negotiations, strategic pricing discussions, and complex account opportunities.
  • Identify new channels, customer segments, and product opportunities that support U.S. market expansion.

Cross-Functional & International Collaboration

  • Work closely with U.S. leadership, inside sales, warehouse operations, and customer support teams.
  • Collaborate with international leadership and technical resources to align U.S. sales activities with broader organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate with affiliated equipment businesses to identify shared customer opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive feedback, and customer insights to support business decisions.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and strategic customer meetings.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Progressive experience in industrial outside sales, territory management, business development, or sales leadership.
  • Demonstrated success growing revenue within an aftermarket, industrial equipment, MRO, consumables, or related technical sales environment.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or developing field sales professionals.
  • Ability to develop sales strategies while remaining actively involved in customer-facing activities.
  • Strong understanding of territory development, recurring-revenue sales, account management, and customer retention.
  • Experience establishing sales objectives, managing forecasts, and evaluating sales performance.
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and business acumen.
  • Mechanical or technical aptitude and the ability to understand industrial products and applications.
  • Ability to work effectively across a small U.S. organization supported by international resources.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and remain closely connected to customers and the sales team.

We would welcome conversations with professionals from:

  • Industrial laundry aftermarket sales or sales leadership.
  • Commercial laundry chemical sales and district management.
  • Industrial equipment parts and service organizations.
  • MRO and industrial distribution sales leadership.
  • Commercial laundry OEMs, dealers, or technical service organizations.
  • Related industrial businesses with established recurring-revenue sales models.

Direct industrial laundry experience and existing industry relationships would be highly valuable, but we are also interested in strong industrial aftermarket sales leaders who can successfully transfer their experience into this market.

The ideal individual will be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where the infrastructure is established, but the U.S. field sales organization is still being developed.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Enjoys building rather than simply maintaining an established sales organization.
  • Is equally comfortable meeting with customers and coaching sales professionals.
  • Can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution.
  • Brings structure, accountability, and sound commercial judgment without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Understands how to develop a repeat-purchase aftermarket business.
  • Is motivated by the opportunity to make a visible and measurable impact on company growth.
