Instrumentation Specialist III
Overview
This role sits at the center of instrumentation and controls design for complex industrial projects. You will own design execution from concept through implementation, working closely with engineering, field teams, and external partners to deliver practical, buildable automation solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Lead instrumentation and controls design activities across multiple projects
- Develop automation documentation including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and data sheets
- Generate instrument take-offs and support equipment selection
- Build and refine control system designs with a focus on performance and cost
- Partner with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to align execution
- Review vendor proposals and support procurement of instrumentation packages
- Provide technical support to field teams during installation and commissioning
- Assist in developing specifications and design standards
- Contribute to team development and continuous improvement efforts
What You Bring
- 5+ years of instrumentation and controls experience in an industrial setting
- Strong design and documentation capability
- Working knowledge of NEC
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- ISA CCST or similar certification is a plus
Work Requirements
- Up to 15% travel
- Ability to work in office and industrial environments
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
