Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager – AI & Edge Systems
Overview
Our client is seeking a commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to support growth in AI hardware and edge computing markets. This is a true business development role focused on generating new revenue through proactive outreach, technical engagement, and conversion of opportunities into production deployments.
This is not an account management position — success depends on the ability to open doors, build pipeline, and close new business.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive net new business across AI, edge computing, and embedded systems markets
- Identify, engage, and convert target accounts through outbound efforts and industry presence
- Lead technical discussions around AI acceleration technologies (GPU, NPU, FPGA, ASIC) and edge deployment architectures
- Conduct discovery to align technical solutions with customer needs and use cases
- Partner with engineering teams to transition opportunities from evaluation to production
- Manage pipeline activity and forecasting within CRM systems
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings (moderate travel required)
- Provide market feedback to inform product direction and go-to-market strategy

Required Background
- 5–10 years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or business development
- Exposure to AI, edge computing, semiconductors, or related technologies
- Experience supporting or selling into technical stakeholders (engineering, product, architecture teams)
- Track record of driving new business rather than maintaining existing accounts
