Position Type: Full-Time / Entry-Level

Pay: Competitive entry-level wage for the Fargo-Moorhead area; performance-based increases as you progress through your apprenticeship.

Company Overview

Our client is a $60 million building automation and security systems integrator. Despite its global backing by a leader in mechanical equipment, the company maintains a “small company” feel and an agile, collaborative environment. They are a “Golden Rule” driven organization, prioritizing treating people right over high-stress corporate mandates.

The Role

We are seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join our Fargo team. This is an “earn-while-you-learn” opportunity where you will assist in the installation and startup of sophisticated building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician while gaining the field hours necessary for your North Dakota licensure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Installation: Assist in installing conduit (EMT), pulling wire, and mounting control devices, sensors, and actuators for HVAC and building systems.

  • System Support: Aid in the termination of low-voltage and communication circuits for integrated security and automation platforms.

  • Blueprint Reading: Learn to interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to accurately execute project scopes.

  • Testing & Commissioning: Use electrical meters and diagnostic tools to verify proper voltage and system operation under supervision.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Qualifications

  • Registration: Must be registered (or eligible to register) as an Apprentice Electrician with the North Dakota State Electrical Board.

  • Education:High School Diploma or GED required; progress toward a two-year technical degree in Electrical Technology or HVAC is a significant plus.

  • Aptitude: A strong desire to learn technical systems and a “can-do” attitude; we will train the right candidate on specialized platforms like Schneider Electric EcoStruxure.

  • Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders/lifts, and operate in active commercial construction environments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Health Insurance: Comprehensive coverage available immediately upon start. The premium is 100% paid for employee-only plans.

  • Retirement:401(k) match starting after 90 days.

  • Mentorship:Work directly under experienced mentors to help you accrue the 8,000 hours required for a Journeyman license.

  • Additional Perks: Life Insurance/AD&D policy provided.

  • Paid Time Off: 10 days PTO and 7 paid holidays.
