Chief Technical Deployment Officer

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a senior technical leader to oversee the implementation of complex technology solutions in customer environments. This executive will bridge engineering, implementation, operations, and customer teams while ensuring successful delivery of complex projects.

The role combines hands-on technical problem solving with organizational leadership. The successful candidate will help establish repeatable implementation processes, build a technical delivery team, and ensure lessons from customer projects are incorporated into future product and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical implementation and integration activities for complex customer projects.

• Serve as a senior technical resource for implementation planning, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

• Coordinate technical requirements across customers, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders.

• Diagnose problems involving multiple technical systems and coordinate appropriate solutions.

• Review technical documentation, system requirements, interfaces, and implementation plans.

• Establish consistent processes, documentation, and standards for project implementation.

• Develop methods for improving implementation efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

• Build, hire, and develop a technical implementation organization as the business grows.

• Establish team responsibilities, training programs, performance expectations, and escalation processes.

• Maintain strong relationships with customer technical and operational stakeholders.

• Communicate project status, risks, technical issues, and recommended solutions to internal and external leadership.

• Identify recurring implementation challenges and work with internal teams to improve products, tools, and processes.

• Develop metrics to evaluate implementation performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Travel as needed to support major projects and customer requirements.

Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of experience in engineering, systems integration, technical implementation, field engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience deploying complex products, equipment, or technology into real-world environments.

• Broad technical understanding across multiple engineering disciplines.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and coordinate solutions across teams.

• Experience working directly with customers on technical projects.

• Proven experience hiring, developing, and managing technical teams.

• Experience creating repeatable processes for technical implementations or deployments.

• Strong project organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable operating in an evolving environment where priorities and requirements may change.

• Willingness to travel when required.
