About the Role
We are seeking a senior scientific leader to drive innovation in biomarker discovery, physiological modeling, sensor integration, and data-driven translational research. This position combines strategic vision, technical leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across biomedical engineering, computational modeling, device development, and AI/ML integration.

The successful candidate will guide research and development of novel physiological indicators, advanced modeling frameworks, and integrated data systems, ensuring alignment with long-term product and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Define and lead the roadmap for non-invasive biomarkers and physiological modeling.
• Align R&D, hardware development, and modeling initiatives with product and organizational strategy.
• Monitor emerging technologies, scientific trends, and clinical needs to guide long-term planning.

Biomarker Discovery & Innovation

• Lead discovery, characterization, and validation of novel physiological biomarkers.
• Establish reproducible and translatable indicators of biological function and health.
• Oversee experimental design, validation studies, and pathways for potential productization.

Physiological Modeling & Hybrid Approaches

• Architect mechanistic, PB/PK, and hybrid mechanistic/ML models for biological systems.
• Adapt classical frameworks to high-frequency, real-time biological measurements.
• Collaborate with computational teams to integrate models into operational data pipelines.

Sensor & Data Integration

• Guide development and evaluation of novel non-invasive sensor technologies.
• Define data acquisition, signal extraction, calibration, and harmonization standards.
• Ensure tight integration across hardware, data engineering, and modeling workflows.

ML Integration & Data Productization

• Collaborate with AI/ML teams on hybrid modeling strategies.
• Define standards for model outputs to support downstream data products and analytics.

IP & Scientific Leadership

• Drive patentable innovations in biomarkers, sensor technologies, and modeling approaches.
• Publish research, maintain engagement with academic and industry partners, and contribute to scientific advisory initiatives.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in translational biomedical research, device development, or computational modeling.
• Demonstrated leadership in biomarker or sensor innovation, mechanistic modeling, and cross-disciplinary R&D programs.
• Hands-on expertise in non-invasive sensing, instrumentation, signal processing, and biological data analysis.
• Strong coding experience (Python, MATLAB, R, or similar).
• Track record of patents, publications, or other scientific contributions.
• Proven ability to collaborate with AI/ML, software, and engineering teams.
• Exceptional communication, cross-functional collaboration, and team leadership skills.

Preferred

• Experience leading innovation in early-stage or research-driven organizations.
• Familiarity with real-time or streaming physiological data systems.
• Understanding of regulatory considerations for devices, diagnostics, or computational modeling.
• Experience translating research into productized capabilities or decision-support tools.
