Director of Robotics Engineering
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a senior robotics leader to oversee the development and integration of complex automated systems. This role will provide technical and organizational leadership across robotics engineering, system integration, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary robotics engineering team.

Establish technical direction, engineering standards, and development practices.

Oversee the design and integration of robotic hardware, software, sensing, and control systems.

Guide projects from early development and prototyping through validation and production.

Develop technical roadmaps and establish priorities for future system capabilities.

Provide technical leadership on motion, control, system integration, and automation challenges.

Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex system-level issues.

Establish testing and validation processes for reliable system performance.

Partner with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and external suppliers to support successful implementation.

Manage engineering priorities, resources, schedules, and organizational needs.

Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent as the organization grows.

Maintain appropriate technical documentation and development processes.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

10+ years of experience developing complex robotic, automated, or electromechanical systems.
-
5+ years of experience leading robotics or multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Strong understanding of robotics hardware, software, controls, sensing, and system integration.

Experience taking complex systems from development through production or commercial deployment.

Familiarity with modern robotics software frameworks and programming languages such as C++, Python, or comparable technologies.

Experience with real-time systems, industrial communications, or embedded technology preferred.

Strong technical problem-solving and systems-thinking abilities.

Proven ability to lead teams while remaining technically engaged.

Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
