Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician with specialized hands-on
expertise in industrial food slicing equipment.
In this role, you will act as the field technical expert responsible for installing,
commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining advanced electro-mechanical
slicing systems at client facilities. You will interact directly with plant maintenance teams
and operations managers, acting as a key technical resource during scheduled
maintenance and critical downtime scenarios.

Key Responsibilities
• Installation & Service: Perform scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and
full commissioning of industrial food slicing machinery and integrated processing
lines.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electro-mechanical issues,
including AC/servo drives, motors, control circuits, basic PLC interfaces,
pneumatics, and high-pressure hydraulic systems.
• Customer Training & Support: Educate customer operators and plant
maintenance technicians on safe machine operation, sanitary maintenance, and
basic line adjustments.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all site safety protocols, OSHA standards, and
sanitary facility guidelines.
• Documentation: Complete service reports, site logs, and expense accounting
accurately using basic office software (MS Word, Excel).
Travel Requirements & Expectations
• Frequency: 80% to 90% travel across North America, with occasional international
travel for factory training.
• Assignment Length: Deployments typically average 2 weeks, with occasional 3-
week projects depending on installation scope.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel on short notice and work extended
hours/weekends when emergency plant repairs require immediate resolution.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Core Requirements
• Slicer Machinery Experience: Direct experience servicing, troubleshooting, or
maintaining commercial/industrial food slicers (OEM experience or in-house
processing plant maintenance experience on equipment from manufacturers such
as Weber, Provisur, Textor, Marel, Treif, or similar).
• Field / Technical Background: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical
service experience.
• Electrical Competency: Strong ability to read electrical schematics and
troubleshoot control circuits, drives, motors, and sensors.
• Fluid Power & Mechanical: Solid understanding of mechanical drive systems,
pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Communication: Strong English communication skills with a customer-focused,
professional demeanor.
• Background & Logistics: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, valid
passport (or ability to obtain one), and ability to pass standard pre-employment
screening.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa
sponsorship requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with PLC diagnostics, drive parameters, or automated control systems.
• Background working in sanitary or automated food production environments
