Sales Manager – Industrial Automation
Position Overview
A global manufacturer of specialized electrical and connectivity solutions is seeking a Sales Manager to support continued growth within its industrial automation business.
This is a customer-facing sales position focused on developing new business, growing existing accounts, and working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other internal teams to deliver technical solutions for customers.
The ideal candidate will have a background selling into industrial automation, machinery, OEM, manufacturing, electrical, connectivity, wire and cable, or another technical B2B environment.
Responsibilities

Manage and grow an existing portfolio of industrial customers

Identify and develop new business opportunities throughout the territory

Build relationships with OEMs, machine builders, manufacturers, integrators, and other technical customers

Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through quoting, negotiation, closing, and post-sale follow-up

Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure customer requirements align with technical and production capabilities

Develop quotations, proposals, and other commercial documentation

Maintain an active pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts

Identify market trends, competitive activity, and new opportunities for growth

Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and expand business within existing customers

Collaborate with internal teams across multiple locations and functions
Qualifications
-
6+ years of B2B sales, business development, account management, or technical sales experience

Experience selling technical products or engineered solutions into industrial or manufacturing environments

Wire and cable, industrial connectivity, electrical, automation, motion control, robotics, or related experience is strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to develop new accounts while growing existing business

Comfortable working with technical teams and discussing customer applications

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Experience using CRM systems and managing an active sales pipeline

Ability to work independently in a territory-based sales environment

Willingness to travel approximately 40% or more as needed
Location
This is a remote-based territory position with a preference for candidates located in the Northeast United States, particularly New England or the surrounding region.
Compensation
