Business Development Manager – Nuclear Vertical

Our client, a privately held global manufacturer of industrial instrumentation and measurement solutions, is seeking a Business Development Manager – Nuclear Vertical to drive growth across a strategic, underpenetrated market segment.

This role is focused on building the nuclear vertical from the ground up—developing market strategy, creating new opportunities, and expanding brand presence across key accounts and industry influencers. The position acts as a market creator, identifying and developing relationships where the brand is not yet widely adopted.

Territory & Location

  • National scope with focus on key nuclear regions
  • Remote role — must be near a major airport
  • Preference for East Coast or Central U.S.
  • Travel: ~50–60% (flexible, self-managed schedule)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the nuclear vertical
  • Identify, pursue, and build relationships with utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and key industry stakeholders
  • Drive new business development and market penetration in a low-share, high-growth segment
  • Lead discovery conversations to uncover customer needs and position value-based solutions
  • Support early-stage project influence, including specifications and vendor approvals
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forums
  • Deliver technical and commercial guidance to customers and internal teams
  • Build and manage a disciplined pipeline aligned with long-term growth objectives
  • Partner with sales, engineering, product, and marketing teams to execute strategy

Ideal Background

  • 5–10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or market strategy
  • Strong exposure to the nuclear industry (utilities, OEMs, EPCs, or related supply chain)
  • Proven ability to build new markets / develop underpenetrated segments
  • Experience selling technical or engineered products/solutions
  • Ability to influence engineers, decision-makers, and multi-level stakeholders
  • Strategic, data-driven thinker with strong execution skills
  • Comfortable operating as a subject matter expert within a defined vertical

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus bonus
  • Full benefits package including medical, 401(k), PTO
