Business Development Manager – Pharma Vertical

Our client, a privately held global manufacturer of industrial instrumentation and measurement solutions, is seeking a Business Development Manager – Pharma Vertical to drive growth across a strategic, high-value market segment.

This role is focused on expanding the company’s presence within pharmaceutical and life sciences markets—developing new opportunities, strengthening key relationships, and driving adoption across regulated, specification-driven environments. The position acts as a market builder, identifying and developing opportunities where the brand has not yet fully penetrated.

Territory & Location

  • National scope with concentration in key pharma hubs:
    • Remote role — must be near a major airport
    • Preference for East Coast or Central U.S.
    • Travel: ~50–60% (flexible, self-managed schedule)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the pharma vertical
    • Identify, pursue, and build relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, OEMs, EPCs, and system integrators
    • Drive new business development and account penetration in a highly regulated environment
    • Lead discovery conversations to understand customer needs and position value-based solutions
    • Support early-stage project influence, including specifications and validation-driven requirements
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forums
    • Provide technical and commercial guidance to customers and internal teams
    • Build and manage a disciplined pipeline aligned with long-term growth objectives
    • Partner with sales, engineering, product, and marketing teams to execute strategy

    Ideal Background

    • 5–10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or market strategy
    • Strong exposure to the pharmaceutical / life sciences industry
    • Experience working within regulated environments (GMP, validation-driven processes, etc.)
    • Proven ability to develop new markets or expand underpenetrated segments
    • Background selling technical or engineered products/solutions
    • Ability to influence engineers, operations, quality, and procurement stakeholders
    • Strategic, data-driven thinker with strong execution skills

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive base salary plus bonus
    • Full benefits package including medical, 401(k), PTO
