Senior Robotics Software Engineer

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced robotics software engineer to develop high-performance systems for autonomous machines operating in complex real-world environments.

This role will focus on planning, navigation, and motion execution, with responsibility for turning ambiguous technical challenges into reliable production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for autonomous navigation and motion planning.

• Build systems capable of operating reliably in both structured and unpredictable environments.

• Develop efficient, production-quality software for real-time robotic applications.

• Translate complex engineering challenges into clear technical requirements and practical solutions.

• Architect, implement, test, and validate systems from initial concept through deployment.

• Develop tools and processes that improve system performance, reliability, and validation.

• Collaborate with engineers across software, controls, hardware, and other disciplines.

• Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience developing production software for robotics or autonomous systems.

• Expert-level C++ programming skills.

• Deep understanding of autonomous navigation, motion planning, or related robotics technologies.

• Experience developing systems that operate in real-world, dynamic environments.

• Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to take loosely defined problems through architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
